I would just like to point out that the expressionist movement was hated by Hitler. Among the expresionist artists killed for fear that they might make an influence on gallery goers emotions through thier, emotional works, my great grandfather Fritz Wingen was buried. He made busts of officials and clergy in many Berlin churches that stand today. He also had a collection of, Japanese Calligraphy like paintings of animals and motion, which was the early stage of the popularity of gesture training in the west. My grandmother, learned some litwanian folk songs from him, which I have sequenced, for her to her great enjoyment. He has also written a few tunes for god and the angels and stuff on the organ which I have failed to sequence or play. I should really dig them up and get back to my German roots.

It makes me wonder if Bush will find a way to limit artistic expression in this coming facist regime or if they have the marketing advertising and media alrady so tied up that it wont matter about, the dreaded Meme, or single idea that spreads through word of mouth to create new standards from which people can make more powerful and timely rhetoric. In other words, I would liek to find a way to answer this question more systematically but it is too historical to measure in months and as in the case of all historical studies you can barely draw themes out until after its been ten years or so and it all makes sense, usually only as a resul tof information at that time ten years later which reveals the real hapenings of the present. ("present" as in this terms case)

Computing and Artistry

I've had a conversation a few dozen times now, mostly with girls I'm hitting on, where I mention I'm a sysadmin and they say how they couldn't work with computers because it's so uncreative. At this point I usually drunkenly fall all over myself talking about what great creativity is necessary to code and solve problems - not at all talking about web designing or "graphics" work. After giving the matter a lot of thought, I started to realize that the way my mind works when programming or high-stress problem solving is, in fact, highly creative, but in a way that is different from when I'm writing music or painting.
Has anyone else noticed differences in their creative mindset between these sorts of problems (even noticing differences in the way they create after learning to program)?

I made this tribe mostly because it sounded like a clever name, and partially because it sounded like a good Tribe idea to have geeks who were also into other creative forms like bands, or painting or whatever.
